unable to set my monitor to 60 Hertz [ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA532DU-AL005]

gtx1660Ti_Max-Q
Level 7
Hi,

I bought the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA532DU-AL005

This laptop is really recent : was referenced (released) on the 20th of June (found it on a seller website page).

Links related to it:
https://shop.hardware.fr/fiche/AR201903150066.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIno3WwJ6e4wIVpgrTCh3McAJQEAYYASA...
on Asus website : https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-Zephyrus-G-GA502/HelpDesk_Download/

I'm on windows 10 64 bits home. there is the nvidia gpu and the integrated amd gpu.

i need to set my monitor refresh rate to 6O Hertz
:

To resume, i'm unable to change the refresh rate through both nvidia panel control and nvidia inspector.

Regarding the only display available to change the refresh rate (the integrated gpu), i can only set the refresh rate to 48 Hertz:

The refresh rate options of integrated gpu seems to be shared with the refresh rate option of the nvidia gpu:
I can change the refresh rate of the integrated gpu as shown previously to 48Hertz. Then, in nvidia inspector, i put a fps limiter of 6O and i enabled vsync. When i start the game, the fps counter show constant 48fps so my monitor refresh rate when i use the game is 48 Hertz: and this is the value i set up regarding the integrated gpu. nvidia gpu seems to share same refresh rate as the one you set up for the integrated gpu. (and my game was starting for sure with nvidia gpu: i checked this).

Why the hell i can only set 48 Hertz..

I can't Believe that I can't set up my monitor to 60 Hertz.

Besides, when i open AMD Display Optimizations, it says "No graphic driver detected"
https://imgur.com/a/cV6oKIC

while the amd gpu is known as active and recognized in the Windows device manager.

I do believe that this issue will be fixed as soon as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

a customer who would like to enjoy a smooth experience

All the reasons why i want to set to 60 Hertz are explained in details here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1155308/geforce-drivers/the-standard-nvidia-graphics-driver...

you can go directly to the second page as i have no more problems with nvidia driver install.

i posted all the infos you want: all other infos are on the reseller page.

Yes, my Asus ROG is registered.

There's good reason I want to know both the DirectX model number and BIOS number. Sometimes the BIOS number is the only way to determine what model you have. ASUS is real bad about naming like laptops and only the BIOS separates the models. Some share BIOS but you never know what changes there are between BIOS editions.

BIOS 205 is not on the GA502 page. I'm pretty sure the GA532 is a different model and you are very lucky the BIOS 207 didn't hurt your laptop. I hope you kept a copy of your original BIOS as I would strongly suggest you restore it.
G752VSK, G75VW-3D, G51J, G1S
Homebuilt Windows Server

I have DirectX12.

no problem then,

Asus support told me it was the good support page….

and by the way Bios 205 there might be a Reason if the Bios205 is not in the page: it's the state of the Bios when the laptop is released (it's a new laptop).

stop to propage anxiety ?

or maybe Call Asus and tell them they are wrong then.

This is terrific to see that Asus completely doesn't care about their forums and never here come to calm down ppl.

The only thing you do since the beginning is propaging anxiety.

at the moment you are saying that Asus call assistance gave me a wrong support page ?

PROOVE IT

This is a German website that has copies of ASUS Driver DVDs. I noticed the other day that it now has one for the GA502DU. Use your browser translator to translate the site. The downloads are in English.

https://www.asustreiber.de/downloads/download/60-windows-10/830-ga502du-treiber-dvd

Download, unzip, mount, and rename to eSupport folder, moving it to your OS drive. Then go into the folder and find AsInWiz.exe (ASUS Installation Wizard). Run the wizard to install all the ASUS drivers and programs for the laptop. Keep a copy of this eSupport folder separate from your laptop for future OS rebuilds.

If, when you run the ASUS Installation Wizard it doesn't work, I think that confirms laptop model difference.

Good Luck

I downloaded the file and looked at the release note file:
G752VSK, G75VW-3D, G51J, G1S
Homebuilt Windows Server

nOW I JUST WANT TO STOP THIS **** CIRCUS:

Actually, no this is not the good one so i called them again: and now : "we can't find support page for your ROG".

they said that they will inform their hierarchy about this.

just received a mail from ASUS SAV now telling me that the GA502 support page was the good one... How manytimes will they changed what they said earlier????

I Hope it's ok now.....
