PCIE_3 lane 4x link

Hi,

Is there any way to force the third PCIE lane to link with the graphics card at 16x on a single card configuration?

I mean, I can't connect my gefocre 780 gtx to the PCIE_1 lane (i'm using this case and the PCIE riser isn't long enough to connect the geforce to the PCIE_1 lane).

I've tried to disable the PCIE_1 lane using the onboard switch beside the code screen without luck.

The PCIE_X8_4 slot is a X8 slot so you will not be able to force it to run at x16.

And I regret because I didn't bought 5930K instead 5820K. My sin is even bigger because I had offer for 5930K 50e cheaper than new i7-5820K in store.
But I decide to pay 6 core processors little more than i5-4690K and to save 100e more.
I ask even seller what he think and he say better 5930K and I didn't listen. Both batch J... fabric sealed.
I don't need for SLI that's not problem, even SLI x8 is minimal difference or better to say not exist difference,
but because different cards and adapters.
In that moment paying 100e more for 5930K looks like throwing money because anyway I would keep both on 4.0GHz...


Are you satisfied with 5820K and Rampage 5 Extreme and SM951 speed?
Did you had problems with installation OS? M.2 work in specifications, everything is OK???
I hear SM951 is hot and they put that stupid sticker instead to leave place for video memory heatsinks.

Using a single PCIe card the PCIe 3.0 x16/8_3 slot will run at x16 if using a 40 lane CPU.

so, it will not work at 16x unless it's connected to the PCIEx16_1 with a core i7 5820K. Is that right?

works flawlessly. You don't see it in bios untill you install OS (windows 8.1 in my case)

Rampage 5 Extreme and Rampage 5 Extreme USB 3.1 are same motherboard revision only USB 3.1 Port card is part of package?
