I would like to connect an external monitor, however, I would like to use the integrated Intel GPU instead of the Nvidia discrete GPU.
I have tried connecting the monitor through the HDMI and the DisplayPort interface, and in both cases the Nvidia GPU starts.
Note that I do not have any applications requiring the NVidia GPU running. For example, if I disconnect the external monitor, the NVidia GPU goes to sleep.
From what I've read, the HDMI interface is hardware-connected to the NVidia GPU, however, this may not be the case for the DisplayPort interface.
Have you run across a solution to this?
