Hi,
I'm no genius and not sure if your notebook has the same issue, but hope the information copied below from an older post can help you for this problem which may be hardware related.
================
If you think there might be a hardware issue with the jack, you may want to check this older link http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?1313-Asus-G60Vx-headphone-jack-stuck-quot-on-quot&highlight... and look for post #6 on 02-03-2011 02:15 PM which will take you to another forum.
Check post #337 on 13th February 2010, 09:13 AM at the other forum to see if it's something you want to look into and sorry for the wild goose chase.
If it helps, you might want to look into some USB headphones and avoid the headphone jack?

If that link isn't working, the other link from that post is copied below.

Not sure if you can get out-of-warranty service for that unit locally, but that's another idea although not sure how long it will last.

Sounds like it's a stuck pin in the jack, you can try something similar to the "macbook red light fix" but the end all solution would be to just replace the audio board.
It took me a bit to find, the part numbers you're looking for are 60-N56AU1000-D02 69N0L8A10D02-01
Here's a link to the cheapest one I found

The audio board only transfers the sound from the mainboard. There's really not a good way to enhance the audio unless you go with a different sound card. Asus has a couple that you could use, but i would think it's easier and better in the long run to replace your defective port with the good one.
