After almost 3 years of using the G53 time has come to disassemble, clean and repaste and I thought that maybe I should also upgrade the CPU. As currently I have i5-2410M on board my choice went to i7-2630QM but I would like to ask you for the advice if it is worth to change it and moreover is it going to fit the motherboard that I'm using?
I did some digging and I'm a little bit confused as the Intel's webpage shows that these two CPU are using different sockets
says something completely different.http://ark.intel.com/products/52224http://ark.intel.com/products/52219/Intel-Core-i7-2630QM-Processor-(6M-Cache-up-to-2_90-GHz)http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5%20Mobile%20I5-2410M.htmlhttp://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/Intel-Core%20i7%20Mobile%20I7-2630QM.html
Asus had few G53 models with i7-2630QM on board so I'm wondering if the motherboard was also different than in G53s with i5-2410M.
Please let me know if I should provide any additional details.
I would be really grateful for your help.
