[ASUS ROG G750JS] Audio Subwoofer Issue

Hello everyone!

I've some problem with my Asus subwoofer, when I'm listening some music with the speakers and the volume is more than 70 (actually is when I'm listening it out loud) the subwoofer just turns itself off and then on again.

I've recorded an audio to demonstrate it:

Perceive that in the 15s the subwoofer just turns off and then returns in 22s. I can hear a "clic" like there is some electrical issue and the subwoofer really is turned off and on again.

I've already uninstalled the sound drivers and then installed again, but the problem hasn't gone.

Anyone knows what is it?

I'm using Windows 8.1 64bit
Audio driver: 6.0.1.7283

I have the same problem, I just keep the sound turned down. Thats all you can do.

You can adjust the Level of the Subwoofer independently, so you don't need to reduce the Level on the "Front" speakers. 🙂



Level 50 is kinda low, probably 75 is where I usually run it, I think I turned it down for a particularly bass emphasized track, turning it back up now...

That's a really weird bug... but I think that with this hint I can control it correctly to not turn off again... 🙂

mvharry@gmail.com, it is to be expected in such a short excursion sub. The "throw" of the cone is short, and from your description it is reaching the maximum excursion point and sticking there for a period, before releasing and working again. I have seen it on large speakers, with lots of power, forcing it to occur using a audio signal generator - bored summer school fun - it took a short throw sub to show the problem in real life 🙂

You might also eliminate the problem by tuning out the frequency range that causes the resonance by using the Realtek Equalizer in MaxxAudio, then you can have the sub level up higher for the rest of the sub frequencies, I dropped the lowest frequency band control to show you where they are:



To get the expanded view, click on the settings gear on the popup dialog that comes up when you click the Audio Wizard Launch button in the Realtek HD dialog.



Let us know if you can use this to fine tune the audio to the point where you can increase the Sub level again, and post a snipping tool shot of the settings 🙂

Thanks for posting and answering. I had this problem on my G750JZ, It's now fixed. Just lowered internal subwoofer to 75 from 100. and tuned down the ''31'' range in the equalizer in MAXXAUDIO

Allmighty_bob, that's great 🙂

I ended up dropping the Subwoofer level back down to 65... 75 bottomed out a bit too much on the Netflix material I am watching.

What level did you set "31" to?

Hello guys! I had similar problem and i want to know - is it normal? It is not corrupted notebooks? Or i can exchange my notebook ot the shop with this problem? And what part of notebook is corrupted in this case?

DoomGart, it's normal with all Audio devices. You need to tune the audio to fit the traducers / speakers to match their capabilities - turning up the volume saturates the sub-woofer before the main speakers - so turning down the level on the sub-woofer lets you explore higher volumes on the main speakers, and the total volume output overall.

There are several ways to overdrive the sub. I turn on "loudness" and "bass" enhancements in the Sound control panel for the Speakers, because at low volume I want extra punch - but turning up the volume past low level will overdrive the sub. When I don't have the enhancements enabled - I still hit the limit on the sub before the mains on some material.

It is a normal thing to have to tune the audio output to match the source material and effects enhancements to match the physical limits of the output devices - you just need to investigate all the inputs and controls and then use them match your source material to the output devices.

There is no reason to return the laptop if you can "fix it" with tuning 🙂

But if sub-woofer will be overdrive in default system setting, i think it is not normal and Asus need added restricted for work mode and setting for sab-woofer.
What do you think about it?

And i have another problems with g750, if you'll excuse me for my off top.

but i turn on all mic setting and it doesn't help. I had problem with Razer Craken Pro. Maby it problem caused by audio audio splitter in Kraken, i don't know. But my Kraken works properly in other notebooks and desctops PC, i tested it at home and at my office. But another mic from low cost garniture work normal with my book. What is wrong, do You know?

And my second problem is laggs with HDD. If i run films from my HDD i have random laggs every 10-40 minutes per 1-3 sec. If i install some games on HDD, when i playing in it, i have laggs too. If i use SSD, i haven't laggs. What could be the problem?
