What can I said ? The Asus ROG Ally X is everything that I wanted in a gaming handheld. It has fantastic battery life. Excellent ergonomic when gaming for a long period of time. Asus really did their homework to improve this version of the handheld. Even though the screen is still IPS, it is still among the best IPS screen that I have ever seen. And don't forget about VRR( Variable refresh rate) which is the most underrated featured of the handheld. Most triple AAA game is very demanding on the APU resulting in framerate dips under 60 frames per second. By having VRR helps smooth out the motion on the screen making it more fluid gaming experience and reduces screen tearing and stuterring. I also like the commitment on Asus to constantly update their firmwave on Armoury Crate to improve the end user experience.
For the next iteration of the device, I hope that Asus can incorporated haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the handheld. That would be a first on the gaming handheld. Maybe a 7.5 inch screen but keep the device size same as the Asus ROG Ally X. Reduce the bezel size of the current ROG Ally make the gaming experience more immersive. And finally an OLED screen with VRR and high refresh rate 120 Hz or more for the future ROG Ally.
