For the record I am using a rog gl702vs that is less than 6 months old. So after being forced to update last week i ended up having to roll back the update to 1703 due to the fact it made my computer unusable but now windows update is constantly trying to download and reinstall the update whenever i turn it on or wake it up from sleep.

On the update screen, look to the bottom and click advanced options.
On advanced page defer feature updates.
I have mine deferred for a year. Its just not ready for prime time. Some of the things they did like me having to acknowledge UAC prompts at every boot for apps in the start up folder is what really chaps my a$$.

Try logging into an account with Admin rights, and setting you computer policy on updates. You can set them just like you had in W7. I cannot remember where in policies to set this, it's been a while. However if you google this you'll find direction.
