Peripherals not working properly when together -T500 wheel and Oculus Rift

I have an Asus Maximus Hero IX, 7700k, 32gb ram Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz, Gtx 1070 and a Corsair 850W psu.
Also a Corsair liquid cooler that uses the frontal usb connectors to control fan speeds.
I own an Oculus Rift and a Thrustmaster T500 wheel. The wheel is powerful and delivers a very good force feedback feel when used alone without the Rift.
However, when I use the Rift with the wheel, the torque of the wheel drops considerably and it is quite noticeable.
Any ideas what is causing it?

voltage drop on the USB port.
Try using a powered USB hub for your wheel.

I didn't know about those kind of device! That way the power comes through the usb hub psu not from the pc. Thanks for your advice.
