Frustrating driver crash issue

F1Aussie

Hi all, I recently built a new system on a strix X670e mobo, 7700X cpu and strix rtx 4090 OC gpu.

I have two monitors, one that I run off the 4090 and use to run my games on and the second screen that I run on the igpu to run telemetry and other small apps whilst gaming.

I have been having a problem where my pc locks up and crashes randomly when in game. When I reboot the pc the monitor that displays the apps with the igpu is blank and when I go into device manager it says the radeon driver has been disabled, when i re-enable it I get error code 31 straight away.

In the end I have to uninstall the radeon driver and reboot my pc then reinstal the driver for it to work again.

I am only using some basic amd driver for the igpu and not adrenaline as it does not play well with nvidia drivers. It is the latest driver though.

I am running bios 0805.

I have also noticed at the same time as the crashes occur that in event viewer there are error messages for Hyper-v about it not being able to run because it is turned off in the bios. It is turned off in windows too and has never been enabled. Not sure if this is coincidence or not?

Any idea on what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Cheers

Hello, F1Aussie.

May I ask if your computer has crashed again after reinstalling the Radeon driver?
Please try the default BIOS setting and re-enable the IGFX Multi-Monitor option.
Also, you may use PowerShell or CMD and DISM to enable Hyper-V.

Thank you.
Due to the ongoing regional holidays, my responses may be slightly delayed.
Thank you in advance for your patience.‌‌‌‌ 🙂

Hi there, I don't want to enable Hyper V, just to want to somehow stop those error messages popping up for it. I installed Adrenalin a couple of days ago but and it was causing a lot of crashing so have uninstaller it. I also cleaned up the registry. Haven't had a crash since but will see how that goes. If it does then I will do your other suggestion.
From memory there is no IGFX multi monitor option in the bios.
Thanks
