What's the point of vcore offset mode?

My 24/7 OC is 4.75 Ghz for my 3930k. With manual vcore mode, I have to set it to 1.445 in bios, LLC High, and I get load vcore of 1.456 or so. If I go to offset mode, I need to set my offset to 0.440, which gives the same idle and load vcore. Am I doing something wrong? If not, I don't see the point of using the offset mode as it sets the same voltage on the CPU.

The offset mode is so the cpu won't use the same amount of vcore when not loaded. Ex. when the processor isn't loaded the vcore here needs tp be 1.445. But when it's not in use the vcore will lower, this will save money as well as increase the life span of the cpu (if you're above 1.55v loaded)

What you are saying is true in theory. In reality, this is what I get:

Manual
BIOS : 1.445
Idle : 1.440
Load : 1.456

Offset
BIOS : + 0.440
Idle : 1.440
Load : 1.456

You see? The numbers are identical. And again, I don't see the point of this feature, or am I doing something wrong?

Try to activate intel Power saving programs, speedstep etc, this should make a difference as it donwclocks the cpu to 1.6 when it's not in use.
Also the offset + is way too high 0.1-0.2 should be enough, the reason why you won't notice any difference is cause you have put the + to such a high level.

Example 1
Offset: 0
Idle: 1.1v
Load: 1.3v

Example 2
Offset: + 0.2
Idle: 1.3v
Load: 1.5v

Speed step is enabled and unless I set it that high, the pc wont even boot.

To clarify, I did try every single number from 0 to 0.440 and only after 0.400 the pc was booting and only at 0.440 it became stable.
