My "old" 10940x and my Rampage Apex VI is burned out,
i dont know whats happening but CPU ran never above 1.25v and now have thinkngs about the voltage of my new CPU.
Is it better for CPU Life to have a static voltage oder adaptive?!
I am worry about spikes if i choose adaptive voltage.
Now its a 10850k and ROG STRIX Z490-H GAMING.

Hello,

Current is the biggest contributing factor to degradation, so idle voltage plays a minimal role in this process.

Static or "fixed" voltage vs Adaptive will not noticeably impact the life span of the processor, obsoletion will come first. A good rule of thumb is to stick below 2x the stock TDP underload.

The real benefit of adaptive has next to nothing to do with life span and everything to do with power consumption in low power states. Adaptive uses the stock VID table for all ratios below the turbo multipliers.
