13900k core voltage offset values

Straight to the point. What is the optimal core offset for the I9 13900K?
- If there is no specific optimal value, what is the optimal range?

Currently I have set it to -0.0500 and -0.0650. I notice slightly improved thermals. However, I still hit 100 deg C.

My goal is to undervolt to the point where MAX CPU loads do not exceed 90 deg C. I'm using a 280 mm AIO with great airflow. Is this achievable?

In CR23, not really. You can lower the throttle point, but it depends on what you're looking to use the CPU for. Consider using a contact frame as these can shave a few degrees. If you do not intend to run high current workloads such as Cinebench, there's not much to be had by experimenting there.

Thermal throttling when hitting 100 deg C. Any other tweaking methods to improve thermals besides undervolting?

I bought and installed the Thermalright contact frame -- IT DOES WONDERS!! Big difference even if it only shaves off 6-12 deg (this depends on how much I undervolt). The added thermal headroom allows me to tame the mighty 13900K just a little bit more. Also, I do see that the heat build-up as more steady than sudden spikes. Thus stability and performance is improved. CR23 now at 40,712 -- https://ibb.co/j4t6M9Y

Thanks!

Good stuff. Yes if installed correctly the contact frame is definitely a good investment. Glad this has solved your contact issues.

That's good to know. I also tried tweaking the turbo boost power max feature on XTU, it allows me to cap the CPU power draw, hence reducing thermals. The downside is it also reduces max core frequencies resulting to sub optimal speeds.

Hey, I am running a 13900k, 90 Degrees Celsius max, around 38k points in Cinebench. Have a Roq Strix Z690 Mainboard and did undervolting with the load line calibration. LLC is 4, DC_LL 0.98, AC_LL 0.18 (check how low you can go) and MCE Disabled.

Cheers

Fantastic. Your thermals are AWESOME! Mine still goes up to 97C. More if I clock higher. My best score on CR23 is 40280 -- https://ibb.co/HTsNDxB

Although your thermals caps at 90 deg which is great, it sounds like you may have undervolted too much resulting to lower score/dec performance. Unless that is your intent there's no need to tweak it.

I will try to run your settings, I know I can get higher clocks if I can get my thermals under 90 without compromising performance. Thank you for sharing!

Just for reference I also use a Z690 MB and only a 280mm AIO. My XTU bench is 13773 -- https://ibb.co/Br6FDv8

Further tweaking got me up to 41055 on CR23 - https://ibb.co/b75Mrq0

This is my current ceiling with undervolting + the contact frame.

Hello XGZiDeus,

Looking good, how are temps?

When using a negative offset, this also affects idle voltage. So when you start to get BSOD's at idle, you know you've reached the limit.

Continue what you're doing and see how much of an offset it will let you go.

I don't have the 13900k but hitting 100c with an offset could be showing your coolers weakness, you could check the water block is mounted properly.

What thermal paste did you use?

If you used the pre applied thermal paste, using a better thermal paste such as thermal grizzly kryonaut will make a significant difference.
