Quick question About maximus extreme iv-z: fans

Hi there

I am about to order this board. One quick question: there are 8 fan connections on the motherboard. Is it possible to comtroll the fan speed and what is the maximum watt per connection (I am about to build a water-cooled set with a few 5w fans, would like to connect more then one at each connector 🙂
If it is too low, I would have to get an external fan controller...

Hi,

1 amp per fan header. The chassis fan headers can be controlled if using 3 pin fans.

So 2x 5 watt fans@12v should be running fine?

I will have a total of 14 fans, divided into 5 groups... If only three groups can be speed controlled, I will have to get a controller 😞

Yes. You can use two headers for them if you wish.
