i need some advice on what to fine tune next.

I currently have manually set all these settings as the gamer profile just will not work when activated.

I set the Core Voltage to 1.3 volts with a 46x multiplier after testing voltages out slowly upwards and tested it stable with my ram running at 1333 MHz, then i put the XMP profile on and it crashed until i set the voltage to 1.375 volts.

I think i got bad CPU ha ha ha ha, i cannot get 4.7 GHz stable unless i run more than 1.5 volts through the system. At 1.5 volts my max temperature reaches 90 degrees in my water cooling loop in Aida64 and will crash within a few minutes.

However it seems to be stable at 4.6 GHz at 1.375 volts. Max temp is 65 degrees Celsius (did not delid)

The jump from 4.6GHz to 4.7GHz might only seem like a mere 100MHz increase but the voltage to get there do get bigger. As you mentioned earlier, looks like your CPU doesn't scale very well.

True. My CPU is stable at 1.2v 4.3ghz, but if I want to go 4.5, I have to increase the voltage to 1.275.

It doesn't seem worth it to try to bin retail haswell chips. I wish I could get my hands on an engineering sample.

Some of the ES that I have are worse than the retails. It is just a lottery.

I just started overclocking mine. I've gotten to 4.8 @ 1.37v. Temps are about 90 during stress test. I have a H100. I'm not sure if it's stable there because temps were too hot for me, so I shut it down. My understanding too is it's a lottery. I've read a few placed that say the Costa Rica chips overclock better. I'm not sure how true that is. I got my 4770K from Microcenter and asked for one from Costa Rica and they did give one.

I did disable something in the BIOS per the manual. I know that's not much help, but check the book. It recommends disabling a CPU integrated VR fault management setting. page 3-21. Not sure if that helps you...
