I have found Crucial have incorrectly stated SATA M.2 type of drives work on this board on the below link
I suspect the link -->
http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/maximus-vii-impact is showing the wrong M.2 drives , it should list CT250MX200SSD3 & CT500MX200SSD3 instead of the CT250MX200SSD4 &CT500MX200SSD4 ??
I have just spoken with ASUS and they advise it is not compatbile
Firstly, the specification of M.2 for MAXIMUS VII IMPACT is below:
1. Support PCIe interface only;
2. Support 2242/2260/2280/22110 SSD card up to 110mm in length;
3. 1x M.2 (NGFF) Socket 3 with M key.
Given the above information, I am afraid that Crucial (CT250MX200SSD4 ) is not compatible with the mPCIe Combo IV due to it supports SATA interface.
For more details, please refer to page 10,19 and 76 in the user's manual.
