CLU Liquid Metal on Asus Gpu

I have a Asus NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics card and wonder if its ok to replace the stock tim on the GPU with Cool Labs Liquid Ultra. It dropped the temps 15-20 C when gaming and on idle it was 28-30 cel before and after it was 25 cel . I put some clear finger nail polish on the tiny gold resisters that are around the GPU in case the liquid metal leaks out.The old GTX 470 is still going strong for about 8 months now with no issues..Any thoughts.....

Hi NIK111

As long as the heatsink isn't made of aluminum it's ok to use liquid metal.

If you have the Strix 1060 it should run cool enough that you shouldn't need liquid metal.

Yea..I think your right. The highest temp while gaming I have ever seen this card was 62 cel..Probably best to leave it alone don't you think..

Yeah I wouldn't do it, applying liquid metal will likely void the warranty too.
