I just finished a new build with subject MB with 13700K CPU and Windows 10. Had a recurring problem with high CPU utilization and the AIO fans running at very high speeds. Fan Xpert would not start. Discovered that the ASCOMSVC was causing the utilization. It was trying to start but for some reason could not. I disabled the service in msconig and rebooted. Received a startup error message "The service can not be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled services associated with it, ProgID: atkexCom.axdata.” Hit enter and the system booted into Windows 10. Fan Xpert worked fine now. Most likely I fixed my immediate problem but will have a different problem with ASUS down the road when I need whatever function this app was providing. Anyone have simialr problems with the AS COM SVC?
