Hi,

This has nothing to do with your Intel ME Firmware. Install/Update your drivers (Chipset, MEI, VMD, Serial IO ...).

Thank you very much, your drivers worked.

Thread updated.

why this firmware version is newer than 16.1.25.2124v4_S but the release date is earlier ?

16.1.27.2176 is 22/02/2023 and 16.1.25.2124v4_S is 17-4-2023 ?

Hi,

I think what made you doubt is the date used by ASUS in your motherboard support page and the date displayed next to the version number here. Note that ASUS always displays the release date, and I always display the firmware build date from Intel.

thanks for explanation, I have installed it 🙂

Thanks in advance 🙂

Hello pcandmac,

It's not necessary to update the bios unless you're having  issues, but it won't hurt to update if you want to. It's a good idea to update the Intel Me driver when updating the bios.

In green it says you're not vunlerable, so this all looks good to me.

With your 12th Gen cpu, one thing I'd do is update to windows 11 for better utilization of the P-Cores and E-Cores.

Windows 11 is free. Download it from the Microsoft download page onto a 16GB usb flash drive, you don't need a key as it links to your windows 10 account.

Hi I have a new build PC using a Z690-A Gaming D4. I need to flash my BIOS to support the 13600k. At the moment I am intending to use BIOS 2204 as I believe this appears to be most stable.

I just wanted to confirm which Intel MEI Driver and ME Firmware I need to pair this with. My understanding is versions as follows:

  • Intel MEI Driver Version 2229.3.2.0
  • Intel ME Firmware Version 16.1.25.2020

Please can you confirm my understanding is correct?

Thanks!

ME firmware is I think causing an issue on Z790 Extreme with bios 1102. In memtest5 extreme config my ram passes test with bios 0904 and 1102 using ME 16.1.25.2124 but on my second bios switch which uses ME 16.1.27.2176 and bios 1102 it fails memtest5. Seems I can’t downgrade the ME on that other bios either so thankfully my board has dual bios.
