Thank you MoKiChU.

"do not update the ME firmware before asus request, 0811 or 0812 bios correct ME fw is 16.1.25.2020, not 16.1.25.2091.

apex 0088's ME fw is 16.1.25.2091."

"ME FW can't rollback to previous version.

usually ME fw unmatch won't an issue, but after 12th CPU update to 13th CPU ME fw disaster, i can't confirm that will be 100% workable for unmatch ME fw."

Hi,

Luckily my followers with 6xx series chipsets based motherboards didn't have to hold their breath while waiting for ASUS request during the Raptor Lake release ...

- My followers who had updated the Intel ME firmware of their 6xx series chipsets based motherboards before the release of Raptor Lake were Raptor Lake ready and have no issues.
- Users who waited for ASUS request to update the Intel ME firmware of their 6xx series chipsets based motherboards found themselves with side effects issues such as the loss of their M.2 slot, issues with XMP, and so on.

I agree with that, but it should be seen as the minimum required :

Z690 :

22xx/23xx/24xx : 16.1.25.2020 or more recent.

Z790 :

07xx/08xx : 16.1.25.2020 or more recent.
09xx/10xx/11xx : 16.1.25.2124 or more recent.

Absolutely, and neither ASUS nor I have anything to do with this rollback lock, it's an Intel security measure (it's the same kind of rollback lock as for some BIOSes, but this BIOS rollback lock can also relate to other BIOS elements than the ME).

Having an Intel ME Firmware newer than the Intel ME firmware around which the BIOS and its microcodes is built is not a problem as long as it stays in the same branch, as I explain here (the B760/H770/Z790 natively uses the last branch 16.1.xx.xxxx, so there is nothing to worry about there), the issues appear when you update your BIOS without having installed the required Intel ME firmware.

Please refer to the last part of the answer I give to bscool above.

Also, before trying to update your Intel ME firmware, you must install/update your latest Intel MEI drivers :

[DRIVERS] Intel Chipset/MEI/VMD (6xx/7xx)

- Intel MEI Drivers (Drivers Only)

Hi, I found big problem on Strix z690a with 2301 beta bios and official 2204 bios with ME 2091. I can't go below 1.305 vrout even if I use AC_LL. I set AC_LL to 0.01 and still I'm stuck at 1.305v. I'm on auto LLC which is 4.
