Ivy Bridge E Up Grade or New Build Questions? Perf Gains Thank You

Hello everyone, seeking a recommendation either up date my current system or build a new system. Apolgize for the long post feel like information is required so
you can make an informed recomendation.

This computer is used for flight simulation only. FSX and P3D. Information concerning these 2 programs. Both built on a 32 Bit Engine. Hyper Threading No. H.T. is disabled in the BIOS. Both will take advantage up to 25 core CPU. Have a diminishing return for the investment over 6 cores, Maximum Memory used 3.2 GBs. SLI is not beneficial to either flight simulator. Frame rate is locked at 30 FPS.

I7 4930K O.C. 4.5 GHz: Task Manager:

CPU Load 54% thru 89%

Core 0-95%, with spikes to 100% Core 1-Operating system 18%, Core 2-52%, Core 3-54%, Core 4-48%, Core 5-54%. Spikes are higher.

Really like the R4BE very solid platform. Leaning towards up grading to a I7 4960X and a new Titan GPU. Maybe a 2% to 4% (I7 4930K O.C. 4.5 GHz) Gain could be less. Would 1 times or 2 times at 16x New Titan GPU bottle neck a I7 4960X clocked at 4.5 GHz? on a R4BE M/Board?

Current system: see signature below.

Monitors:
Primary 3440 x 1440 Ultra Wide 34 In, Secondary 1920 x 1080 24 In

Performance gain for single thread processing compared to a I7 4960X.

Clock for Clock both chip sets are faster.

For single thread processing the I7 6700K LGA 1151 is hard to beat. For a 4.6 GHz O.C. up to 4.9 GHz O.C. Restricted to 1 GPU at 16 X and less cache. With a new Titan for both monitors listed below.

Concern here is O.C. on air. Max Temps when stress testing 92C Ok. Maybe a 4% to 8% Gain (Single Thread Processing) compared to a I7 4960X clocked at 4.4 to 4.5 GHz?

LGA 2011-V3 I7 6900K, I7 5960X. Purchase a new I7 5960X instead of a new Titan. Higher Cache and could run current 2 x GTX 780 S.C.. On air maximum V-Core voltage just guessing 1.32v, Max Temps Stress Test 92C & maybe 4.2 GHz on air?

Thank You for reading and recommendations.

If fyou are focussed on those two exclusively I'd go with an overclocked i7 6700K and some fast memory. Whatever the theoretical..they are both effectively single thread so 4 cores more than enough...you just want maximum MHz performance without HT on a few cores... fast memory gives you gains...

I certainly would not limit myself to air for OCing if what you want is max clocks ...since current AIO watercooling is decent and saves space in the case and delivers a higher top end more comfortably and more stability etc etc.

GPU not very important for either though changing slightly for P3D...980Ti would be future proof for both.

SLI lowers performance for both AFAIK

Correct. Creates stutters.

Hi Arnie really appreciate the reply,

Any other CPU you would recommend?

Custom Liquid Cooled EK Blocks, Lang D-5 Pump single loop, 3 x 360 Rads SR-1 that should do the trick.
Maximus Vlll Extreme
I7 6700K 1.44v V Core for 24/7? O.C. 4.9 GHz at Silicone Lottery. Tested with 2133 MHz 15-15-15-35
G Skill 8 GBs, Memory 3000 MHz 14-14-14 or higher? 3333 MHs 16-16-16-36. 3000 MHz would be faster with tighter timings? 3000 Less stress on
the IMC? Do more searching for tighter timings.
1 x GTX 980 TI SC at 16 x for both monitors.
4 x SSD Raid No
PSU Corsair AX 1500 I

Thank You again Arnie, *Have A Great Day*

There is the i5 6600K which is a good CPU but not quite as high clocks...so really I reckon for your use I'd pretty much plump for the 6700K and if you get a guaranteed clocker like you listed so much the better!

3200 is a pretty sweet spot for performance for RAM...ripjaws v 3200 14-14-14-34 kits are great...

Custom loop would be my pick but not everyone's cup of tea...some nice AIO coolers out there too like EK Preadator....

Whatever you pick will be fun building a new PC!:)

The I 7 6700K at 4.9 GHz is a guaranteed O.C. top 2 percent.
Get the 3200 MHz memory missed that one for some reason.
Be fun build and a very interesting O.C. May have to drop the OC a bit with the 3200 MHz mem.
Been reading the O.C. guide for the chip.

Order the hardware ASAP few detail to work out yet for water cooling.

Thanks again Arnie really appreciate the recommendation.
