Dark Hero 4-pin power?

The Dark Hero motherboard manual suggests the 4-pin power connector is optional. And I heard somewhere that it's only necessary for overclocking (which I don't plan to do).

But is there any reason to not connect it? I won't want it to ever want electrons it can't have because I didn't plug in the 4-pin. And I like to plug stuff in lol.

There's no downside to connecting it, other than having to tidy away yet another cable.
