Asus Crosshair X670E Hero - M.2 Advice

Hello there,

I am building a new PC, I have all the parts almost ready as follows:

Motherboard: Asus Rog X670E Hero
Procesor: AMD Ryzen 7950x
RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 64Gb (2 x 32Gb) CMT64GX5M2X5600C40
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S Redux
PSU: Corsair HX1000
Case: NZXT 510H Flow
GPU: ASUS TUF 3080TI (Or 4090 FE)
Case Fans: 2 x Noctua Chromax 120mm and 2 x Noctua Chromax 140mm

Now I have 3 questions:

1. I am considering buying 2 Samsung 980Pro M.2 Drives of 2TB each, but I did not find them in the Motherboard QVL, only the 1TB version is listed, would the 2TB version work?
2. Should I just wait for the Samsung 990Pro that is supposed to be available by this month?
3. Any thoughts on the selected parts or compatibility issues that you may know of?

Thank you!

I'm running 4x 2TB 980 Pro on this exact board and it is working perfectly fine. So you should not have any issues with those ssds.

You likely wouldn't notice the difference to a 990 Pro in any real world situation, unless you're doing something that needs to read massive amounts of sequential data at an insane rate.
