Hi everyone


Hoping someone might be able to help me debug a potential issue noted within system logs on the router when a known device is connected to the network via WiFi. Please see below for the extract of what I am noting:

I have purposely omitted the MAC address for security purposes.
My query is; why would after successfully connecting the device is there an attempt to restart the firewall and qos?
Also, what does it mean when is mentions

Any ideas or help?

Have you tried reflashing the latest firmware? I'm concerned about the "kernel" complaining about something, whatever it means....

Using $latest firmware version

Yeah, finding it strange that when this device connects to the network that these actions are noted in the logs.
Where as for other devices this issue isn't noted :eek:

If I had to guess that MAC is assigned QoS so the firewall/security is disabled for improved network speed/lower overhead, then restarted for other devices...

Thanks for coming back to me on this, I can confirm that there is no QoS associated with this device.
On attempting to assign QoS to this device and then disassociating make no difference. Just finding it strange that this is the only device that shows:

rc_service: httpds 31447:notify_rc restart_firewall;restart_qos

Still none the wiser on what is happening here

Good point. This appears to be a QoS issue. Are you using that feature? I'm afraid I've never used it. See this thread:
