Asus ROG PG32UCDM bug?

This is just a note to Asus, that there seems to be a bug that caused the monitor to go into a test pattern mode where it repeats (RED/GREEN/BLUE/WHITE) indefinitely. It was resolved in my case by just rebooting the system.

I've only owned the monitor a few weeks and updated to Firmware MCM105 a week prior to the issue, and had no issues at all. I was prompted to do Pixel Cleaning as normal, but ignored it to finish up my game. About 5mins later i manually did it and left the room to make a coffee, on returning it was in the test pattern cycle.

I'm connected via DisplayPort 1.4, and do not currently use HDR.

Just a heads up.

I have had the same problem with mine. My first monitor had this issue and had to be replaced, because it never went out of that "test mode". My new one showed it again a few weeks ago, but was able to recover after reboot. MCM105 firmware

*Update: I have noticed that VRR is problematic since the refresh rate is jumping all over the place when seen in the monitors OSD. Even with a capped FPS, you will see the refresh jumping all over. It's a complete mess.

From my understanding all VRR technologies match display refresh rates in sync with GPU output, which gives the smooth gameplay experience. Since VRR is so unsteady and sometimes goes below even capped frames, this would make VRR more prone to flickering imo. Definitely need another firmware or two me thinks.

Same issue even with HDR On and HDMI 2.1

VRR issues that you've described usually happen with frame generation. try to turn it off and check

Discovered another interesting glitch with this "Premium Display".

"Pixel Cleaning was unsuccessful please try again in 60mins"

This has happened 3 times 2 days of use, and this has never happened since i first got it. The culprit seems to be when i decided to enable the proximity sensor. As that is the only thing i changed, i turned it off and it hasn't occurred since. If it does i'll update this thread.

This happens because the pixel cleaning takes longer than the display sleep setting - so the display tries to go to sleep in the middle of the cleaning and the cleaning fails. Jiggle your mouse after 2 min to keep the display from sleeping during the cleaning or change your display sleep to 10 min. Annoying bug for sure.

That's exactly what I do, thank you )

I have the same problem which occurs from time to time, very seldom I should say. Reboot of the monitor helps to solve it
