BIOS update and overclocking

I am a World of Warcraft player and Blizzard is saying to make sure my desktop has a bios updated to bios microcode 0x12B or later because of the Intel 14th gen. problem that blew up in 2024. After doing some research I have found that my desktop (ROG G22CH) is running 0x129 and that it seems to be the latest version available to my motherboard on the website (https://rog.asus.com/ca-en/desktops/small-form-factor/rog-g22ch-series/helpdesk_bios/).

I am constantly met with a barrage of information online about how I have to go in my BIOS settings and change some stuff about the profiles, using default values (???), performance values (???), downloading chipset drivers and messing with overclocking settings. I am very tech illiterate and none of this is making any sense to me. I have messed with downloading drivers and bios settings with my past gaming ROG laptop and ended up messing up really badly.

What exactly am I supposed to do here? Do I just leave everything as is and ignore the warning message from Blizzard? People are saying not getting the right BIOS update is very dangerous for my computer. Will 0x129 protect my processors or is that version problematic? Is there one SIMPLE thing I should do in my bios settings that can help mitigate some of the issues of 0x129 that I can do to help my computer?

Thanks everyone

I would also like an answer from ASUS as to when the 0x12B update will be available for my computer. I don't know if it's safe to play WoW with my 0x129 update or not?

I also have an ASUS ROG G22 but with 13700F CPU, Blizzard/Activision is also giving me nonstop warning about not having the final CPU microcode. I have used only ASUS products, but between firmware updates that made my Gladius II mouse no longer run right, and now an entire PC failing to get an update on one of the biggest issues in tech history.

Same exact problem here. Have made sure everything has the latest updates, talked to asus support on the phone and they had no clue.
Would love to know when or if we’re gonna get that update. I’ve continued playing WoW and haven’t had any problems yet but still would love the peace of mind.

I also have a g22ch and am concerned about this. It seems that other desktop PCs, such as the g13chr, already have bios released for microcode 0x12B, so I would like to know what is happening with the g22ch.

Any updates?

Nothing. This is so ridiculous.

The 0x12B bios update for my ROG Strix G16CHR was finally released two days ago! I installed it and now I can log into WoW without seeing the warning window pop up! 🙂

Congrats! That gives me hope they’re actually working on this. Fingers crossed they get to g22ch soon. Did you have to go find the update or will it show up in MyAsus or armory crate updates?

Thanks! I had the asus bios update page bookmarked and have been checking for the update every day, so when I saw it finally updated, I just downloaded it from there. I don't know if MyAsus has it too, I didn't check. Fingers crossed yours gets updated soon too! I definitely feel the relief!
