OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

In that case I have selected correct drivers! Yeah it is pretty straight forward and i did it X times already, i am 100% sure i did everything correctly...

"As indicated in your INSTALL process, go in the "Apps" folder from your audio drivers package to install your apps from the Microsoft Store shortcuts." Oh i am blind my brain somehow did not register it was meant "APPS folder" in driver package folder.

Unfortunately Realtek Audio Console is not launching, says: Can not connect to RPC service, but nahimic is running. Last time I tried everything I could google and nothing would fix this! And in Sonic Studio 3, there is no way to separate audio strems - which helped to solve my problem with only one audio output in past.

What should I do?

Hi,

To fix "Can not connect to RPC service" issue follow this :

- Press Windows key + X > Task Manager :

- Startup tab : Check that Realtek HD Audio Universal Service is Enabled.
- Services tab : Check that DcomLaunch, RpcEptMapper & RtkAudioUniversalService services running.

- Right click on your Realtek Audio Control/Console app icon > App settings > Reset
- Restart your PC.

Thank you this worked perfectly!

Hopefully Nahimic won't cause performance issues, tho not installing audio drivers can cause stuttering...

Would switching audio streams work without nahimic service and nahimic components uninstalled? Tho I Am not going to attempt this unless I run into issues, I Am just glad it is working now with audio drivers installed.

Thank you!

If (afterward) you notice issues which the root cause is that SS3 drivers (of which A-Volute/Nahimic stuff) interfering with some of your games/apps, first try to disable SS3 effects, if issues persists, uninstall SS3 app(s), if issues still persists, there you can go get rid of SS3 drivers as explained thereafter (it's at your own risk and I won't provide any support).

Yes, but I don't recommend get rid of SS3 drivers (of which A-Volute/Nahimic stuff) since you will lose the hardware audio processing performed by the SS3 APO (which avoids CPU resource hogging for audio processing) and the loss of your equalizer (since your equalizer is based on SS3 APO Drivers). If you still want to do it and/or you have no choice but to do so :

To get rid of SS3 app/drivers :

1) Cleanup : Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process.

2) Install : Delete the ThirdParty folder from your AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3_v6.0.xxxx.1\Drivers folder then follow scrupulously your INSTALL process (without installing SS3/ apps, install RTK app only).

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow the UPDATE process (always after having delete the ThirdParty folder from your AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3_v6.0.xxxx.1\Drivers folder).

Hi, I have Asus ROG X670E Gene and I installed just the Realtek driver but here it shows many drivers installed, I thought installing just the Realtek driver I will have only 1 driver but it seems that's not the case or am I wrong? BTW i was informed to uninstall the A-volute and the SS3 because apparently they take performance away...

Hi,

You are in the wrong thread.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40 & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

thanks, is there any chance that you could get me only the Realtek driver for the x670e Gene without having all the extra bloat like DTS,A-vloute, SS3 etc?

I'm guessing Realtek file in the driver section is barebone driver right or is there anything else you have thats less bloated?

Hey Mokichu, I have a TUF Gaming X570 Pro Wifi board (V1).  What is the recommended version of this Realtek driver for me to install?  I tried the TUF/PRIME DTS Custom driver but it is missing the Bass Management option which I need for my subwoofer to work.  I was using AAF Optimus for awhile but those drivers don't sound good any longer, almost like the sound is overdriven with too much gain.  Appreciate any help you can provide.

Hi,

You have an ASUS TUF DTS Custom motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Custom) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Also about EQ (and related, of which Bass Management), since you have an ASUS TUF DTS Custom motherboard, it is by design, it's intended to work like this at least for ASUS products : If a third party app is built-in (DTS Custom in your case), the equalization is done via the third party app/drivers.

I tried that driver but it also was missing the options I needed.  Amazingly, after I uninstalled all audio drivers, Microsoft auto-installed a generic HD Audio driver that now has ALL of the options I wanted including Bass Management, Room correction for speakers and other settings and no overdriven sounding audio!  The only thing I don't have is EQ or the voice changer but that is no biggie.  My sub now works again in everything including games, music and applications.  I really wish Realtek still updated the generic drivers on their website as those always just worked, no matter what.  Now I am worried Microsoft are going to push out an update to the generic driver at some point and break them again.  For further information, I use multichannel analog outs to an Onkyo Receiver with component wired 5.1 speakers.
