OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC408x).
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC408x).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Thread updated.

Global thanks to you Mokichu for all of the drivers on this stite thank to you. Random question that you can probably answer -- how specific are these audio drivers to Asus motherboards? I see quite a few .inf files w/Asus in the name but only one that references Asus in the file itself. Would these drviers work for any motherboard that has the same feature set (eg. DTS, Sonic Studio, etc)? Just curious.

Thread updated.

Thank you @MoKiChU. You are appreciated. STAY WELL!

Hey all,

Can someone please help me with my motherboard and sound drivers?

Here is my problem.

My motherboard is this: TUF GAMING B460-PLUS and the sound drivers this board has on the website are 6.0.8911.1. When I download them and extract the winrar, I get two Setups. One asussetup and another just setup. When I click asus setup and drivers are installed, the pc restards and I have sound drivers plus dts and the realtek audio console. When all 3 are installed, I get crackling sounds or noise. not sure how to explain. It's like the speakers are broken or don't support the sound. It's like for a second here another second there. happens when I listen to music or play games. When uninstall drivers then run just setup, the drivers are installed but no audio console panel or dts is there. The scratching crackling sound is not there anymore. Something is wrong with the drivers or the console from realtek. I installed these 6.0.9341.1 I got from here by run install as admin and the drivers are updated bu there is no realtek console or dts.

When windows 10 installs it's drivers, which are just High definition audio then there is no crackling at all. They're old, back in 2020.

Anyone has this issue? I see a lot of people online having this issue. They speak about doing some editing in settings which I did and did not help.

Anyone knows any drivers from 2020 till now with a realtek audio panel that work normally without crackling? I'm actually thinking to buy a sound card just because of this problem.

Thanks

I followed the steps precisely and keep getting "cannot connect to RPC service"

please help!

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS MB) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (MB | Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Also, updates your Realtek USB Audio Firmware to the last if it is not done yet (to run as admin) : https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/01AUDIO/USB_Audio_FW_Update_Tool_VID0B05_2021-11-25_ASUS.zip

Hi, I recently updated my bios to latest since then i'm not able to successfully hear audio from my motherboard both on linux and windows 10.
In windows 10, I installed latest audio drivers that was displayed on asus website where i downloaded the bios from but still it's not working.

Luckily i found this forum and looking through previous comments. I have a sense that I could fix my audio after 3 weeks
Can anybody please please guide me in the right direction?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you. And any way to amplify also the sound by SPDIF? maybe some driver mod? I just can't find a way, I look at Techpowerup forums and I don't see a way either (I say that forum because that's where I got those drivers that amplified the SPDIF output on my previous Z370 E Gaming. Thank you

Hi,

Sorry, modding is not my field.

However, if you notice the issue since updating your BIOS, and that you have the issue with Windows & Linux, it is not a cleanup/update of your Windows audio drivers that will fix your issue since you have the issue with Windows & Linux. It seems that your audio controller no longer seems to want to start since updating your BIOS, so, follow this :

- Check that the audio controller is enabled in your BIOS.
- Hard reboot your PC : Turn off your PC > Turn off your PSU for 15 sec > Turn on your PSU > Turn on your PC.
- If you still have the issue, contact ASUS Support : https://www.asus.com/support/CallUs (and/or open a thread here : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support).

HD Audio controller is enabled in the bios.
Tried hard reboot and followed your instructions to installing audio drivers but still no sound.
I have all this drivers installed after following your guide, 93718

When i connect my headphones into the line out port, It asks if I had inserted headphones or front speakers. I select headphones and hear click noise from headphones that's if after that no audio.

Try resetting BIOS to defaults and reboot then test sound.

Will you continue to support realtek drivers for notebooks?

No.

What I offer is now only AIMed for motherboards (as originally), please refer to your product support page to download the appropriate drivers for your product.

Hey Mokichu,

I m lost with the sound drivers... I uninstalled them (tried a new sound card) then tried to reinstall them (rog ss3 + dts) on my Maximus formula XII...
Cleaned everything as usual, console, sonic studio, radar, driver storage removing everything i could from dtx, realtek etc ...
I've also deleted a folder in appdata (nahimic something...). I reinstalled your drivers (and the official as well), everything's going good until I try to launch Sonic suite III, dled from MS store from your link.

First, usually, when I install your drivers, after the reboot, I have the install wizard finishing the realtek installing process (same with the official). This time, i neven shows up, so I have to manually download the console and Suite III from your link. The console is working (even tho i can only see the digital output (spdif))???) and suite III is poping up 1 sec before disappearing... Then I am tryin to open Sonic Suite Companion from the start menu (in admin) and it shows that

Dunno if I deleted something important on appdata, but it is suppose to come back anyway after installation right ?

Also noticed that windows update tends to download automatically A-volute and some nahimics stuff ...
Anyway, without suite III, and realtek console, the sound card is useless, spdif is limited to 48khz 16 bits, Sabre amps arnt working, etc ...

I dunno what to do now, i have the same symptoms with the official old drivers...

Thank you

Edit : Problem solved, kaspersky was blocking A-volute and Nahimic programs, services and their access to the network. Be aware in case you are using Kaspersky
