OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC408x).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC408x).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

FYI i don't have that issue, i'm on Maximus X build 22000.795

Hello all,

I want to share my experience troubleshooting a problem with the Nahimic service and see if anyone had encountered the same thing.

First of all my specs:

ASUS Maximus XI Hero WiFi
Windows 11 Pro x64 build 22621.232 22H2

I followed the guide to clean install the driver (even used DDU in safe mode to be sure everything was cleaned fine), I installed version 6.0.9360.1 SS3 without any issue, every component was recognized so nothing to complain. Rebooted the system and checked the audio, all ok! Even Realtek Audio Console self installed.

I continued to use my computer as usual, but I noticed when using WinRAR or Google Chrome/Opera GX, even Windows Task Manager, these applications were slow in opening, so after some testing etc. I found out NahimicService.exe was the culprit. I let the video speak by itself:

https://streamable.com/kntpe1

Obviously i updated to the latest version (6.0.9374.1) posted yesterday and nothing has changed, so my question is if anyone has having the same behaviour or not, maybe it's the unsupported Windows 11 version that cause the issue, who knows....

PS: Sonic Studio 3 is a garbage software, crashing in advanced mode everytime.

c-media does not interest me I know that there is no update and that asus does what it wants. as with the touchpad precision

Have a good day

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Hey, this was asked before by others but it seems that some replies are missing or were removed after the forum maintenance so I can't find the answer.
What drivers should I get for the x570 Dark Hero?

Also a bit of a different question - is there a fix for the Nahimic service causing severe system slowdowns (making most programs take 30+ seconds to open) that isn't just disabling the service? I've had this issue with my Z390 Gaming-F system as well, and there have been posts about it here and on Reddit for years reporting similar issues, is there perhaps a piece of software I'm missing that's causing the Nahimic service to hang, or is it really just that bad? (I'm also assuming it's injecting itself to every new process for the equalizer controls and w/e, followed by hanging for around 30 seconds which causes the process to hang)
