ill use this thread to collect some new test bioses for the boards, maybe also to explain some less understood options
to disable cores ccd go here and choose ccd xx bit map down core.
each ones stand for an enabled core
best to disable from the back, ie:
110000
instead of 0011000
after selection press downcore apply changes or discard if made mistake
ocpak/octools
FAQ:
7950x not boosting pass 5.5G -> check that CStates is not disabled
Detailed Explanation on CState Boot Limiter
Test BIOSes:
new:
X3D OC Preset for those MB with asynch BCLK Support: (for simple slight perf boost for X3D)
DOCP/EXPO Tweaked: (for simple timings tightening)
strixe-e 1515
for crosshair and strix e-e:
explanation of segment2 Loadline:
customize a heterogenous loadline for a dual segment workload range.
example above shows loadline=L6 when current is in range of 0~40A, and Level4 when current is above 40A.
Adds for x3d
dynamic ccd priority switch with core flex, os / driver agnostic so win10 win11 ok
Algo as follows:
If condition reached and ccd0 specified, then check current mem/cache activity > threshold and hysteresis reached, if fulfilled then switch
If condition reached and ccd1 specified, then check current mem/cache activity <=threshold and hysteresis reached,, if fulfilled then switch
Default hysteresis =4
Can combine multiple algos for ccd priority so combinations are wide
works on non x3d too but of course senseless on it. detailed explanation here.

Hi, I have a suggestion to add two functions to the bios.
1. something like GIGABYTE's X3D Turbo Mode (there are obviously reserves with X3D) The X3D Turbo Mode is integrated with AMD AGESA 1.2.0.2a
2. Disabling ssd and nvme drives (for windows installation.)
It would be really cool if this could be added.

Thank you all for sharing this informations, I updated my bios to 2505.
I previously used 2124 and found Expo tweaked to be running smoothly.
It's not wise to use beta bios, but I'll update it if there are any issues!
Curiosity can be risky at times. 🙂

Update on 2505. The Crosshair x670e Extreme has been fine.
But after using 2505 for a while, the Strix x670e-e has had some problems. Most of the time it works, but occasionally it would fail to POST. In this state, the screen is black and the fans are all at pull speed. Turning it on and off would fix it. The system was otherwise completely stable. Reverting back to 2403 appears to have fixed the problem.

Wanted to follow up... Seems my issues with 2505 on my Strix x670e-e are most likely related to my GPU (RTX 4090). Consistent GPU load is good at crashing the PC (and sometimes it's not a full system crash, I lose the display, but can still ssh into Windows, remote desktop doesn't work though), and sometimes (not usually), it happens right at boot. The problem also happens with 2308 and 2506. Explains why my Crosshair x670e Extreme build is completely fine with these BIOS versions.
POSSIBLY it's a defect with the board... But most likely not. It will be a fun weekend of debugging! Ugh.
So please disregard my previous comments about problems with 2505 on the Strix x670e-e.

Hi Everyone,
Is there an equivalent BIOS repository but for Intel?

Hello,
on OCN, yesterday, I mentionned a bug I have with 2505 beta.
https://www.overclock.net/posts/29386864/
When I am in bios at "Save profile user" menu and want to save a .cmo of my bios settings (With F2) on a USB key, this is a pure mess.
Bios becomes completely frozen (I can't move the mouse cursor and no key is responding on the keyboard). I have to shut down PC with power button.
It happens as soon as I press "Enter" to save the .cmo on the USB key, or, it happens at the next step when I want to exit of the Bios to restart the computer.
It doesn't happen when I want to save a .txt file of my Bios settings with ctrl+F2.
Only when trying to save a .cmo file.
It happens also at stock settings, whatever the USB key brand I use and whatever the USB port on my PC.
my USB ports are working perfectly in Windows.
It seems I am not alone as anotehr guy confirmed the issue.
PS : you can see my rig in signature of my OCN posts.

Check 2506 and let me know if still the case

Hi Silent Scone,
bug still there with 2506

Don't have the Strix here, I've let them know to try and reproduce the issue

To confirm, RD have replicated this and will be deploying a fix
