Hi All
I have an Asus Crosshair Dark Hero VIII motherboard with a AMD 5900X cpu.
Im running a 3080 graphics cards at 16x , 2 NVME M.2 cards on the board , one running 4x and the other 3x
Also have 6b sata HDD connected.
Now i would like to add another nvme drive .
If i connect a NVME to PCIE card to the 3rd PCIE slot will it affect the gpu speed and drop it from 16x to 8x ?
Trying to fine a way of adding extra storage with faster speeds than sata.
Looking at the Sabrent NVMe M.2 SSD to PCIe X16/X8/X4 Card with aluminum heat sink (EC-PCIE) and a WD_BLACK 2TB SN770 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe

Any help most appreciated
Karl

It will surely reduce PCIE x16 to x8 with x570 chipsets by adding PCIE NVME addon card as it does on my ASUS X570 E Gaming MB.

You can always double check the configurations with the manual.

I heard the top 2 slots are 16x to cpu and and 3rd slot connects to chipset .
Still a bit lost with it all lol

guessing it will drop gpu to 8x by that ? but thats for 3 gpu's ...

I think it makes no difference on x570 chipset if it's a 3 GPU or just another PCIE addon card, as the lanes will still be used, and therefore reducing PCIE to x8.
