I think you cannot go directly to latest bios from 6201, try going to 7201 (or even 6401 first)... Also, always load defaults before flashing. On 7201 you can install 3900x and update to latest BIOS.

I also had an older cpu (1700) and several months ago upgraded to 3900x, works perfect, so don't loose your faith.

Does it actually successfully update to 7704 using USB flashback?
But after the update you get no display?

Iv tried updating Bios different ways etc but anyway one of the ways I have done it when you boot pc up and go into Bios and go to the appropriate section to update Bios. It give the bar. One that bar is completed it says successfully updated Bios
I can't remmebr if I boot it or it does it automatically but when it starts I get no input on my monitor
Iv even waited like 15 mins incase it was doing something in background
Anyway to get me pc to boot up again
I have another USB with the Bios 6201 on
I stick that in the Bios USB port at the back
Press the Bios button, wait for it to complete
And that's how i get me pc to boot

Also I'm grateful for any help I can get as I'm losing the plot here lol
Thanks

The newer BIOS versions switched from using an legacy VGA driver to an GOP driver.
Hence your graphics card needs to be UEFI compliant.

What is the make and model of your graphics card?

I don't know what you mean by UEFI as I'm not very technical
But I have Nvidia Titan X card

Download and run this updater for your Titan X.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/nv-uefi-update-x64/

-Reboot, then try updating your motherboard BIOS to 7704 again.

Hi I did what you said
Downloaded that driver. My card did need a firmware update so it did that
But still no luck,
I tried various Updates. 6302, 6401, 7201 and 7704
none of them allowed me to get back to my startup screen but they all seemed to have updated successfully
so I had to go back to Bios 6201 to get my PC to boot monitor
so back to square 1 unfortunately for me 😞
