[DISAPPOINTMENT] New build, overheating & memory problems

Firstly, after almost 7 years, decided to go head in on a full blown new build to replace my

Core-I7-950
EVGA X58 Classified 3
EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980
G.Skill 24GB DDR3-1833MHz
12TB of HDD Space
Dual 28" ASUS 3D 144Hz, 4K Monitors
1000W Thermaltake PSU Gold Rated

for

AMD ThreadRipper 1950X
ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme X399
MSI AMD Radeon RX Vega 64
G.Skill 32GB DDR4-3200Mhz
2x1TB Samsung 960 PRO NVMe
Single 49" Samsung CHG90 144Hz QLED
Seasonic 1000W Titanium PSU

and this new AMD has been a complete f!@#ing disaster, a disappointment and money not well spent. So from the start, originally had order a Corsair H115I AIO Cooler for the CPU and G.Skill TridentZ RGB Memory, the memory would not post under any configuration, and i do mean any, from single slot tries in every slot to different dimms placed in various MB spec orders. So sent the TridentZ back (ruined my RGB theme) for G.Skill HyperX memory which was suppose to be compatible with Ryzen chips. well yeh, got it to post after reversing how the slot was configured, but not to the MB Specifications.

Before I get into the wealth of issues with the HyperX memory, when the system post, the tempature was insane on the CPU 63-71C, did everything trying to see if maybe the CPU install was bad, nope everything looks proper, than thought maybe the H115I was bad, so sent that back for a refund, and went with an EKWB Water Cooling solution. Hrm...Nope, system still booting with 63C~ Okay, so run through the OS install process, thinking maybe the cpu-monitor is just wonky etc, install steam with some games, launch 3dmark, BAM! system shutdowns with the LED on the MB stating CPU Temp etc. Okay

Booted back in, downloaded the latest bios 0503, oh hey the CPU temp dropped to something reasonable 32C~-43C, but notice the s#$! sparaticuly jumps around in all types of temparture ranges...weird, but more stable before, attempt to set the memory to correct timing from auto etc, 14-14-14-34-3200Mhz DOCP, boot back into OS, seems okay, input devices are wonky. crank into my favorite game (Dota 2), within 5m, my system shutdowns, repeat this everytime.

Now mind you, this buld is in the $6500~ range, and I am beyond mad and pissed off with this. Right now, every indication of problems point to this motherboard. I am in complete utter disgust, that paying $549 for an ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme has been my bane for this entire project. right now I have a $6500~ unusable piece of crap because my tempartures are wonky and memory is just not function properly.

Is this just a one off extreme issue with power capacitors or is this even more wide spread?

Hrm, the instructions state that the IN is nearest to the center of the CPU and the OUT is furthest, and it actually has an IN/OUT near their holes. so doubt those are wrong. anyways still have not gotten back around to assembling the liquid cooling, i'm stilling with random shut offs. assuming it's the memory. but this is becoming a bit aggravating.

important = 2 single channel ram NOT dual ,,,, 4*dual channel ram NOT quad so you must use real 4 quad channel ram(4 ram in 1 box writen quadchannel on it ) , not 4* dual channell*
in ryzen you must use only *dual channel , never never use 1*single channel ram , your system cant start , even start will give you tiny freeze

example true ram for threadripper
gskill ripjaws4 2800 4*4*

example true ram for ryzen and all other amd
geil evo x 3200 2*8
or
gskill RGB trident z 3200 2*8

NOTE=true slot ??? in AMD you must put ram in exact slot , according your motherboard user manual , so before put ram on ramslot see your mobo true ram slot (wrong slot can make system cant start or crash )

in amd ram is very very very sensetive ,but if you use no1 best ram, you never see even 1 freeze, bluescreen or freeze hang in 1 year !!

Nothing wrong with using 2x dual kits just make sure S/N are sequential if your going to do that and Trident Z just require the user to set the timings correctly for Ryzen manually. Zero memcheck errors running 64Gb 3200 16-16-16-38 from day 1 of build.

7th day into my 1950x build- so disappointing. struggles to get 70fps in gtV, witcher3, pubg, battlefront with msi gaming x 1080. Your connection to radiator looks badly twisted- you need to redo it. I put temperature connections to measure temp on water in & out of rad- get 43 to 48 C degrees with an ek360 kit. Had a lot of difficult getting all 3 screws to tighten down w click sound until I watched a video here with 1/4 turn trick. I get 70fps, Pauls harware gets 120ish in gtV using my same zenith,1950x,gskill 14 14 14 34 32GB memory with 801 bios- no clue why. CPU fan keeps runing slow/ fast pattern( pump has its own connector.) have to stop corsair RGB ($200 dollars wasted on commander pro& required added stuffyou must buy) al suite from running in task manager which causes stutter, lag. Last straw is to spend $769 on msi 1080ti since Ive aldreay spent so much on this amd 1950x mess. Too bad 8700 intel stuff was not out when I started this build weeks ago. Intel lowered the 7900 to $1000 7 days afyer I bought 1950x. jay & linus did x1950 build but did not so far give bios setting & no game fps. EK kit $400 cpu/zenith mobo $1550, 32GB mem $416, seasonic titanium psupply $140, Corsair crap comander pro $200ish(should have got aquaero), corsair rgb fans 5 fans $140. My 5820 build puts this 1950x build to shame. no amd for me ever again, should have known better from my fx8350 days vs my intel 3820 & 5820 runs everything days. buyer beware. Maybe some day 1950x will run ok- I suspect bad bios problems( too new), & software / equipment problems that dont run well with 1950x cpu & zenith mobo.
