Hi All,
I have 64GB of
Corsair CMK64GX4M4B3333C16 and noticed last night that it was running at 2133MHz.
I've had a read around the forums before I signed up this morning to see how to go about doing this in the BIOS. Most threads I came across mentioned that, for Dual Rank memory, the most stable setting is around the 3066MHz mark. One thread mentioned that one should use SIV to pull the SPD information and then apply the settings manually in the BIOS.
Initially, what I tried first was to go into the BIOS, set it to "Easy Mode" and then just select the XMP profile in the drop down list. This did not go as well as I had expected. System rebooted, ran for about 10 minutes, hard-locked and then booted twice before telling me I had BIOS settings issues.
I then rest to optimized defaults, went into advanced mode, then selected the DDR4-3066 memory profile setting in the drop down list for memory speed. I also set the voltage for bank AC/BD to 1.35V. I am currently running with this setting, I noticed a substantial improvement in responsiveness.
I'm just wondering if this is the right way to setup the timings for this memory, because, when I run SIV and look at the SPD timings it returns, there is no specific speed for 3066MHz, there is one that is slightly higher, and the settings listed don't quite match what is defined in the preset (as shown by CPU-Z). What is the right way to set the timings up, or am I OK with how I have currently done it?
As an aside, the memory is rated/tested at 3333MHz for the XMP setting, does anyone know if I will be able to run at this speed?
Any thoughts/tips/tricks would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Asgaroth
