Well I wrote to ASUS and they said that no, I would have to buy the cooling kit from a retailer....so it seems they have reneged on that.

I'm not convinced this board is really capable of running 32 core TR....technically it might do it...but comfortably...

MSI and Gigabyte have new boards with huge VRMs coming

We'll see

Just got an email reply from Asus about these kits. Unlike Corsair who have free upgrades to existing customers when the Ryzen processor came out(Yes I had a H110i at the time), Asus told me I would need to purchase this cooling kits. This is rather annoying since this was a premium motherboard and very expensive. Foe us early purchasers who endured various annoying bugs, the lease then could do is send this to us. Very disappointing to say the least.

Like how I can't disable all these ridiculous LED lights from the bios anymore? Those kinds of bugs? What about how despite being (at one time) the most expensive of the boards, it's the only one not compatible with the largest noctua fan and it's consistently the last to get bios updates.

I was also informed by ASUS that the Zenith Extreme will start including this cooling kit. So in other words they think it's needed but to those of us who bought this board when released its just too bad.... fork out more money. I'm seriously considering Ebay and buying the new MSI motherboard. Back to the original post, I am disappointed in how this has been handled by ASUS. Yes tencent, the out of spec motherboard is annoying when looking at air cooling, which is just another example of the limitations owners of this board faced. I've not once made a public video talking about the annoyances I have endured with bugs.

Last reply I was told by Asus that if I had purchased this board on 08/26/18 then they would send me a free kit. This is such bull crap to say the least. Also I love how they add the confidential message so you can't post their crappy service replies.

Yes you can, as long as you were the recipiant of the message from ASUS.
"Legal" notices in email signatures is not even worth the paper it is written on, at least not if you live outside of 'murica 😉

I had a chat with customer service, and they said:

Based on the checks I've made the MSRP will be $19.99 and is it scheduled to be released in Week K35. This puts the release by the end of this month. There will be a cost and it can be purchased through our main third party resellers such as: Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter, Frys electronics.

For anyone interested, apparently even though ASUS advertises on their site that there are cooling kits for the X399 Zenith, Strix and Prime motherboards, that is in fact false according to ASUS. In the last 2 weeks of emails back and forth I have been told that the cooling kit is only available for the Zenith boards and the other two do not exist, and they are keeping to that story even though I have sent links to their own product pages that say the contrary.

Bad form ASUS bad form...

I received a recent Asus Zenith 2 days back from amazon after the product was out of stock for around 1-2 weeks. The cooling kit is still not included as it should be; announced as part of the board here: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-ZENITH-EXTREME/overview/ - "Reload with cooling kit"

The reply from Asus Singapore was "Not my problem"
