Added a new M2 SSD (M2_2) lower slot and it transfers at half the speed of the first/primary. 2 lanes for the new second drive and 4 for the primary. Ive read many comments regarding how that M2_2 slot shares data with SATA drives and can slow things but its not clear to me how I disable that shared SATA potential so I can get max speed on my SSD. I successfully swapped out of Intel Optitane mode as I dont have raid. Ive disabled SATA drives. Odd to me that there isnt a more "crisp" set of settings
Maybe my SATA HD is plugged into wrong connector?
Anyone shed some light on how to get M2_2 operating full speed while I also have a mechanical drive?
My drive config
- C Windows: M2_1 an older Sabrent 2tb drive. Operates with 4 lanes
- D Media Storage: M2_2 brand new Crucial 4tb. Operating with only 2 lanes. Being new its rated much higher
- E Bulk Media: 16tb Western Digital Sata drive for bulk media
No RAID anywhere. I chose to backup my date with an offline service.
