Z370 F XMP issue

All,

Posting here after almost reading every possible posts in this regard. Specs are

Z370 F Gaming - bios 0612
core i5 8400
corasair 2 X 8gb -Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK8GX4M1A2666C16

Ram has XMP profile of 2666 Mhz, earlier i had the ram installed in wrong slots and after changing it i was able to use XMP successfully without any issues for few days, but the issue started again today (cold boot) , regardless of whatever i do the system just dosent post if i change my RAM frequency.

1. Enabling XMP results in failure posts in safe mode after few minutes
2. Setting ram speed manually posts in safe mode
3. tried single dimm alone still same
4. ram works perfect with 2133 mhz (without XMP)
5. Stress test on ram didnt return any issues.
Edit:
6. Tried switching back and forth between bios 0606 and 0612 as well 😞

Any help on this regard would be greatful, its driving me nuts 😞

asus just released a new bios 0614 with change log showing improved memory compatibility !!!! let me give it a try and see how it goes

Might want to go back to the old UEFI build if that worked beter for you. Alternatively, you can take a stab at tuning the memory timings manually. The latter is quite an involved process, so you may want to go the easier route.

I tried flashing older uefi build ,but it's all same. Tried settings the timings manually and it was unsuccessful,will try one more time . Any suggestions on voltages apart from ram voltage ?

For tuning the memory timings, you'd need to try more than tRCD, CAS, tRP, and tRAS...there are a lot more timings.

For SA and IO voltages, you can look at what it's applying on Auto, and then work from there. Stay under 1.35V for both. These voltages are sensitive, so applying too much will cause instability (some CPUs don't like 1.35V). I'd adjust in small steps. You can try higher than what the board is applying on Auto, and also try lower.

i have bought t-force xcalibur 4000mhz ram put it in a new build z370f i7 8700k gtx1080 now it refuses to run a game when xmp is enabled loads in fine etc but it freezes and crashes afterwards if i take xmp off it runs fine please help i spent 400 bucks on ram hahah

Im able to boot with mch full check enabled @ 2800mhz, one thing i changed is the training profile ,inset it to standard profile and I was able to post normally , is the standard profile advisable?

A few experts or at least Asus employees in this thread and ALL avoided this question. This is the ONLY result I found on the interwebs even mentioning this newer bios setting but I think its a relevant question. I changed it from AUTO to ASUS training profile and surprisingly my PC booted right away, seemingly ignoring the memory training process. Possibly explains why Balla was able to finally boot without a code 55?

Fun fact: Asus motherboards seem to take an excrutiatingly long time to boot!!!!!!!! (using Samsung 980 pro gen 4 boot device)

I started a new thread on it, hopefully somebody at asus or otherwise knows what this setting does?

the bios version 1412 released few days back has fixed the issue now i can pass boot with xmp(even higher clocks) without any hassle, pretty unbelievable its a problem with asus side and it took them around 5 months to fix it.

Strange problem indeed. My Z370-H board has no issues with XMP 3600Mhz no matter which bios version I'm using.

At least Asus seems to be addressing these issues with updated bios.
