Z370-E Boot's ok but can not get standard post display.

I put together a ROG Strix Z370-E system, from parts that were on a shelf for some years.

It is working fine, except for one strange thing, that I have never seen before.

When the ROG logo is enabled it works as expected during post.

When the logo is set to off the screen is blank during post.

Every other ASUS board I have had/used if the logo is disabled you get the standard post screen.

Once or twice it did display the post information, and once it flashed briefly.

I have tried various settings, used the video card output, mother board video output.

I have flashed the newest bios, double checked settings etc.

The build is:

i7-8086K cpu, (2) 8Gb 3000 Mhz dim's, (2) Samsung 970 EVO pci-e in raid 0, EVGA GTX-980 Ti, Intel I225-T1 Nic (new).

Any one have any thoughts what to check?

Thanks

I was hoping not to have to clear the CMOS and risk loosing the OS on the raid setup.

But that did fix the problem.

One funny thing, at first the DVD drive was showing on the PCH storage page & post screen.

After I set all of the bios options it disappeared, oh well.

Feels like the 370/390 series is half baked and not ready for prime time.
