Weird problem with my Z370 with NVME

Hi,

I was using my computer with only a NVME in slot M.2_1 for a long time and everything was fine.

Needed more storage so decided to add a sata standard drive (3,5 inch). But the computer would not start anymore.... just the fan turning for a couple of seconds and nothing.

If I unplug the sata drive everything work fine again. I tried all the sata port but always the same problem.

I try to look up the M2._1 Configuration but not really sure what they talk about

Thanks for any help 🙂

Thanks for your help 🙂

THe problem was with the power cable from my PSU. It was the wrong one I've used. They have all the same connector but not necessiraly the same pinout.

I found the one that came with my PSU and everything was fine.

The model is a TUF Z370-Pro gaming. e0b8b17a-330b-465b-b9d4-61161ccc8544.jpg

manual stated when M2_1 is on use, SATA_1 port is disable. use another port in the motherboard.

2. and this can happen also,  If you have windows 11, and the extra hard disk (ssd or mechanical hd) is on legacy, THE UNIT WILL NOT APPEAR. cause secure boot uefi is active.

There are ways to fix this many wasy. THE BEST ONE, is to plug the extra ssd or mechanical drive on a external caddy on the pc move the files out, format and add the data again.

cheers
