Hi All,
I had a stable system for ~2 years. I was an early adopter of Z370 boards when 8700k first launched.
I was recently motivated to Update all my SW, drivers, bios, etc.
It appears that after upgrading my bios I am having some RAM instability...
(I got a few crashes here and there, and after seeing a "Memory Error" crash, I have been running Memtest64 overnight and it crashes).
I went from a very old bios (i.e. probably around 0430) to the latest 2401.
I was just using XMP enabled. (I will test with XMP disabled to verify stability at stock).
I have 4x8Gb LPX Corsair Vengeance, CMK16GX4M2B3200C16W (DDR4-3200 C16)
Can anyone provide some basic troubleshoot points?
I thought XMP DDR4-3200 with Intel CPU was pretty stable by just enabling it... It certainly was pre-bios update.
I know RAM can get fairly complicated when manually touching timings, which I have never done...
My system:
CPU: 8700k
RAM: DDR4-3200 4x8Gb
GPU: 1080 TI
SSD: 970 Evo
PSU: Seasonic 850W
Motherboard: Z370-e
Regarding CPU Overclock, I had a measley 1.27V Vcore / 4.8GHz turbo overclock...
It was stable @ 1.26V pre-bios update, but I gave it some extra juice just incase.
I don't think there is an issue with the overclock since Mem64 is failing. (With time I'll do some prime95 tests to verify).
