System Randomly Powers off

Kirito-Kun
Level 7
Hey Guys, I have a small problem I hope you can help me with..
My Setup:

ROG Maximus X Hero
i7 8700K
KFA² 1080 Ti HOF Edition
NZXT Kraken X62
32 GB G.Skill Ripjaws (Dual Kit)
Samsung 960 Evo
4TB WD Black

The system randomly powers off every now and then. Couldn't find any problems until now, I tried updating my BIOS, didn't work out.
There really is no special moment when it shuts down, I sometimes played CSGO for a couple of hours without any shutdowns, sometimes it just powered off twice in a row with about 20 minutes between these shutdowns. Also happened at night when I was sleeping. I really hope you can help me with that, I saw that this problem already existed on older versions of the Hero board.

I'd still lean towards the power supply but if it shuts off and reboots, there's a number of things that could cause that. Software, drivers, memory, CPU, power supply, motherboard.

If it shuts down and stays off until you turn it back on, almost certainly power supply or overheating.

So hey, me again! I had the system running for more than 24 hours without a single shutdown, what normally didn't work. The debug LED was showing 40 instead of A0, I read about the 40 as "cold boot" stuff, I don't know what exactly it was. When the system shows A0 in the debug LED it seems to crash randomly, but with the 40 it didn't happen. How can I boot into the 40 on purpose? is that actually possible?

I had a similar problem when i first got this board and thought it was bad hardware. For me, it turned out that the stock settings were not stable. You can see my thread here. The system would randomly reboot, during load or during idle, sometimes overnight like you said. It would just reset with no rhyme or reason.

I would tried tweaking the CPU settings before replacing hardware

*I had the same problem, and it was a riser cable for my GPU.*

Hey trey, where can I find these settings you mentioned in your post? Can't seem to find 'em.

Hey Awer, the cables seem to be fine for me. At least nothing loose.
