Initially, its main purpose was to be taped to the back of a graphics card so that you could set a fan curve (admittedly, it didn't work well for that). However, you can now map GPU core diode temps natively via AI Suite (on supported ASUS graphics cards). I suppose you could use it to monitor other heat sources if you wish.
