Stay away XI Hero 1704 bios

My 9700k at 5ghz all cores OC is now not working with this bios, Errors OCCT almost within a few mins, can do multiple hours with previous bios.

Why is Asus always messing things up with their bios's? Time for a change of brand I think.86798

If you have RAM related problems while overclocked or using XMP with the new BIOS, I had similar using the last BIOS, I fixed mine by going to MEMORY TIMINGS and PRESET = MODE 2

Strix boards lack those options...

Hey guys,

There seems to be new Memory settings added to the menu in the picture. Have I missed something here? Has these settings always been there?

Hmm I don't remember these either from memory so I'm not too sure to be honest.

new settings
"Lpddr Dram Odt"
"DDR4 Skip Refresh Enable"
"Late Command Training Relaxed Reset"

BIOS 1704 for MAXIMUS XI CODE faulty, bcs. same settings with BIOS 1704, XMP 1 for DRAM 3200MHz (1.350V) doesn't work, need 1-2 minutes to reboot with unstable post message (DRAM set to 2133MHz with 1.200V), 1.350V is not accepted
I test all new function with Auto, Enabled and Disabled
"Lpddr Dram Odt"
"DDR4 Skip Refresh Enable"
"Late Command Training Relaxed Reset"
and --> MEMORY TIMINGS and PRESET = MODE 2
XMP like manual settings and other settings --> nothing works
I go back to BIOS 1602 and the sytem boot/restart in 3-5 sec. and works perfect with XMP1 with 1.350V / DRAM 3200MHz --> perfect.
BIOS 1602, Improve system stability --> perfect
BIOS 1704, Improve system performance --> negative ;(

Yep I was getting instant lockups with prime95 blend with my 3000mhz ram @ 3600mhz with 1704, I've now flashed back and happy days, Thanks Asus! In future add a full description to your bios updates, You must be the worst i've seen for changelog and messing around with RAM settings making systems unstable!
