Your audio problems might be installed driver/software related.
Try running LatencyMon 6.70 to check if that's the case.

I similar problem before with a Z97 motherboard
When the computer was connected to a wall socket without ground the audio was sparking,popping, crackling randomly
But when i plugged it into a grounded wall socket problems was gone
I dunno what the problem was back then, PSU, motherboard, not grounded connector?
My guess is that some kind of static interference caused the audio to screw up
(but like i said, i don't think this is the case with most of these issues)
off topic->
When a computer is plugged into a wall socket without true ground, the PSU dumps slave current onto the case (thats how they work) 120v low amp for 230w PSU (if i remember numbers correct)
so If one hand is put on a grounded wall radiator and the other on the case there will be a small electric shock (nothing wrong with PSU)
