I just noticed this is on the ASUS US website. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm not feeling like being a guinea pig as "bios flashback" does not seem to work.

Anyways, let's keep this friendly and post our experiences with it.

battlefield 1 vcore spikes up to 1.392 max chills around 1.372v for 70 % of the time and 1.36v about 20 % of the time .

if i droped my load line cali to level 5 i would drop down to 1.32 - 1.344v and i bet i would only get 1.36v 20 % of the time on load .

to counter that i would have to run 1.38v @ load line 5 sowhen under load i would get 1.36v under load but then my idol light loads would get 1.38 - 1.392

higher vcore @ light loads and perfect load volts @ high load or the other way around if i use level 6 .

i dont mind going up to 1.372 v when im stable @ 1.36v but i dont want more then 1.372v max

If I go to 5ghz which I normally can at 1.29v, it will shoot over to 1.4v at LLC 4. Previously it would only shoot to 1.33,and rarely at that. So I took that profile away for 4.8ghz.

Pretty much same setup as Carlyle above except I'm under a Kraken X62 on the Apex board. I am seeing temps accompany the voltage spikes, at one stage I see 80c at 4.8ghz which is what I was maxing at 5ghz previously. Also now my 5ghz profile will occasionally show corrected whea errors in log, due to spectre patch and the now slight instability with all that volts.

Edit- okay just reverted to 1003 and the spikes are still present 😞

Hello

Depending on the amount of tuning one wishes to do as well as IMC capability it is best to plan on memory speeds 2 to 3 bins lower than the max listed.

My IMC is brilliant by the seems, I am able to run my Gskill 3200 C15 kit at just 1.05v on both IO and SA. Any bsod I had during testing was all vcore and settings around that.

Just noticed some odd behavior. I have heard of an issue with fans not ramping up, and I noticed mine were always quiet at load but temps weren't out of hand so I thought nothing of it.

Anyway, for fun I tried out the TPU setting and it went to 5ghz, 1.28v maxing 1.312. Thought that was cool but a bit low and sure enough it gave a vcore bsod (this one needs at least 1.29 I found). So I removed that and set my 4.8ghz profile. Now my fans ramp up properly, and the same settings from earlier is now maxing at 1.28v.

I am curious as to why that is. 5 reboots now and it hasn't changed.

That's seems high for 5ghz? Or are you running more? I read that different CPUs have different VID behavior, that even with the settings / overrides on, if the processor is not happy with the volts at load it will shove more in regardless. Or perhaps at least try, I don't quite understand it fully cos I haven't experienced it with my 7700k or my 3960x. I always appreciated an little initial overshoot when I load comes on from idle volts (say from 0.7 to 1.28 the down to 1.25v in my case for my 4.8 profile), this seems to help preventing instability when a load comes on (something that I had to fine tune for on my 3960x)

i need 1.36v for 5.0 ghz no avx offset to be 24 hr stable in real bench , prime 95 , occt linpack .

1.36v on load that is .

i wouldnt say 1.36v is high for 5 ghz , alot of forums i read the average vcore i would say is 1.35v-1.4 v

i would say 1.4v for 5 ghz is high .

i dont mind a little over shoot but 1.36v adaptive no offset i get spikes to 1.392 v on havey load .

if i use a load line cali less then 6 i volt drop below my set 1.36.

i notice the cpu and svid give the cpu 0.016v incriments under load so if i use a -0.016 offset with 1.36v total adaptive mode then it gets better but then i drop down to 1.344 v and then get 1.36v 40 % of the time under load and only spikes to 1.372v witch isnt bad . but im worried that when it drops down to 1.344v when light loads it might give me a whea error eventualy none yet though .

ill try load line level 5 but im going to have to use a higher vcore like 1.38v so when under load i get 1.35v - 1.38v

it improved myboot times for when the Rog startup screen appears.........had to disable CPU fan as it wouldnt boot ( not sure what my 115i pro is plugged into )

edit: post still twice as long as new Asrock K6 with 8600K ( just oc it to 5000 with 1.3 volts not that I had any real clue on what I was doing)

Oh so your running with no AVX offset, I think mine was requiring about the same in that Occt test for AVX but too hot so I bring offset to 2 for 5ghz to keep the 1.292v happy. Otherwise whea.

Always seems like 1.4v is the ceiling for health, was so with 3960x not sure for other between then and 7700k/8700k.

Regarding boot time mine seems to spend a bit of time at Post the same way my Rive did, seems to come on and then flash for a sec then show rog screen again for a few secs, then boot time to Windows logo is almost instant. I guess rog boards really go hard with the Post/training?

not good , my Asrock does it in half the time

The Hero does it in about 20 seconds ( up to Win10 logon screen )

But new BIOS is quicker but not by much
