nvme ssd in slot 0 shows as disk 1 in Windows 10

I have 2 nvme SSDs installed in my XI Code. I installed the OS on the SSD in slot 0, but it shows as Disk 1 in Windows. Why would slot 0 be disk 1 instead of 0?

Possible boot order in BIOS?

I wouldn't sweat it unless you cant use a slot. About like some boards showing GPU 1 as GPU 2 in Nvidia control panel. Engineers probably using common core math.

Windows pretty much does what it wants when it installs OS. If you had more than one disk or drive connected on your system when you Installed OS you take your chances with where partitions are placed. I only have my OS disk or RAID connected when installing OS these days.
