MOBO HDD issues(Freezing)

I got my computer about a year ago but recently upgraded my hard drives.

I've always had the one M.2 SSD and a single 2TB Seagate for my games. I recently added a second 2TB HDD for extra games, recordings, etc.

I understand that using the M.2 SSD does eliminate one SATA Port and I've tried switching which port I ports around but it's like my HDD is having issues.
So far, it does not matter which port I use. My computer will randomly freeze for 5-10 seconds before coming back to normal. If I unplug one HDD, the issue goes away, no matter which HDD I unplug.

Anyone have a solution?

I had this same issue on my z390 Gaming-E motherboard and the ONLY thing that fixed it was to go into windows power options and set the hard disks to never sleep. It's kinda BS that you have to go to that level to fix it, but if it saves you some headache I'm happy that I could provide the solution I was searching high and low on the internet for for months when I first built this system.

In windows, right-click start and choose "Power Options"
On the right side there is a link for "Additional power settings"
Whichever plan you are on (I'm on High performance but yours may be different) click the link "Change plan settings" next to the power plan you are using.
Then click the link for "Change advanced power settings".
Under the "hard disk" setting, under "Turn off hard disk after", change the value to 0 minutes.
This sets it to never turn off the hard disk.
Hit "Okay" and then "Save Changes" if you can (it may be greyed out but you can verify it was saved by going back into the setting and confirming it now says 0 or Never.

Within a half hour of continuous use you should know if your PC ever had the dreaded freeze again. (I suggest music or media playback so you will KNOW when the freeze happens if it does)
I hope this solves it for you 🙂

Just changed it! Hopefully this does fix it for me. Thank you very much for letting me know about this issue!
