Maximus XI Formula, PCIEX16_2 slot

Hi, I have a new XI Formula, and I understand that when there are 2 M.2 SSD's installed, the PCIEX16_1 slot is limited to x8.

If that is so, am I losing any performance by installing my GPU in PCIEX16_2, which is x8 as well?

I ask this only because the build looks much better with the GLU in the lower slot.

Thanks

16_1 should be by 16 with one m.2 in. It just disables sata2 if in m.2_1.

Thanks for the answer.

What happens when there are 2 M.2s installed, as I have? Is there no effect on the PCIEX16_1 slot?

No effect, as they're not using CPU lanes. I have the same setup here, the GPU remains at 16x speed.

OK, cheers for the answer!

Both M.2 ports use PCH lanes, so GPU speed should be unaffected whilst in PCIEX16_1.
