Hi folks,
Long story short, I am currently running an 8700k on a Maximus X Formula with 2x16GB (32GB) RAM kit. I noticed that the more recent BIOS updates the maximum RAM capacity has gone up to 128GB. I could be wrong but it is my assumption that this ought to constitute that a single DIMM can now handle up to 32GB.
So with that said, if I wanted to up my 32GB of RAM to 64GB, would my motherboard support a 2x32GB RAM kit like the F4-3200C16D-64GTZR for example?

Hi My friend.
I do not think the Maximus X Formula supports 32GB RAM sticks???? Are you sure you are not confusing it with the Maximus XI Formula which I believe does take 32GB sticks.
Here in the manual it says. : 4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 4133(O.C.)/4000(O.C.)/3866(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2133
The QVL list only lists 16GB sticks. ie. 16x2 or 16x4. for 32GB and 64GB respectively.
