Maximus X Audio Popping

Hi everyone, I've noticed that I get random audio popping while listening to an audio Stream in Chrome while I am browsing other tabs or have Chrome in the background.

I have forced Chrome not to throttle background tabs and have checked that I have the latest drivers. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

The audio sounds great if I have that tab in focus, but as soon as I start browsing another tab, I get intermittent pops. This happens with multiple speaker setups and with headphones on the front IO ports. I'm thinking it is a driver issue. I have all audio enhancements turned off. I see that there are some similar issues with the previous boards but I don't see a consolidated / agreed upon solution.

One thing I've been noticing is that people are talking about turning off "fast startup" I do not have that option cause I'm not using legacy boot, I have CMS off and Secure boot enabled, I personally am not having any audio problems, also the systems I build (I'm a system builder) not sure why some of you have CSM enabled? if you don't have any legacy items it should be tuned off...also new audio drivers are out try them out (they are wokring very well on my Maximus X Formula, Code and IX Formula)...they have all new UWP apps for Sonic Studio, Sonic Radar and Realtek Audio Console, make sure you check for Windows Store updates as one some of those had an update, before the update if was crashing on me...and yes these audio drivers are perfectly fine to use on any ASUS motherboard...ASUS will eventually update all the support pages...

Have you turned off the fast startup in below? This is what's helped with a handful. It's in Windows.
Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings
Z790 Asus Hero Maximus on 0816 BIOS (0914 and 1202 crashes for me on XMP I), Intel 13900k stock clock, Asus 4090 Strix OC edition, FF3D532G720 Teamgroup Ram running XMP I, 16gb x 2, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB x 2, Seasonic VERTEX GX 1200W, Win 11 Pro 64, Deepcool LS720 AIO, NZXT H7 Flow. Comfortably using Armoury Crate for updates/fan xpert.

I do not have the fast startup toggle because I'm in full UEFI boot mode, CSM is disabled and Secure Boot is enabled...

"System builder", please note that fast startup has nothing to do with CSM being enabled or disabled.

Why did you quote my System Builder? Anyway let me clarify it has to do with Legacy boot vs UEFI boot + having Hibernation enabled/disabled...that better?

You confuse Fast Startup (Windows) and Fast Boot (BIOS UEFI), that's what Deepcuts wanted to tell you.

The CSM (BIOS compatibility for non UEFI devices) has nothing to do with Fast Startup (Windows).

If you disable hibernation, then it will also disable Fast Startup (Windows), so you use the workaround well without really knowing it, that's why you not having any audio problems.

I also have the CSM disabled, and the Secure Boot enabled, and I can assure you that it does not impact the Fast Startup (Windows), it is always configurable without using the hibernation disabling command line :

[REMINDER] : Disabling the Windows Fast Startup : Press the Windows key on your keyboard > Type in Control Panel > Press Enter > Follows this tutorial for the rest of the indications : https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1031533

What made the Fast Startup (Windows) disappear on your side is that you have disabled hibernation by command line.

So if i buy sound card like sound blaster the problem will dissapear?

I have disabled fast startup but i have again problems with audio.even with spdif

Correct, That is what I was trying to explain, maybe I didn't explain correctly, or misworded it, but yes everything you said is what I meant to say, it was very late and replying to several threads...mistakes/typos happen...I actually think I was trying to reply to a different thread, don't really remember lol
